Mr. Williams was appointed as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff in California in November 1991. In 1993, he was hired as a Police Officer with the City of Richmond Police Department in California. In 1995, he joined the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff as a Deputy Sheriff.
As a Deputy, Mr. Williams worked in the Custody Services Bureau, County Patrol, and the San Ramon Police Department. While assigned to San Ramon PD, he was trained to conduct traffic accident investigations. He was a Field Training Officer, Traffic Officer and served on the Sheriff’s Special Weapons & Tactics (SWAT) Team. In 2001, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, where he was a supervisor in the Custody Services Bureau and Patrol Division before being assigned as an investigator to the Internal Affairs Unit. As a Sergeant, he was also a member of the Sheriff’s SWAT Team as an Assistant Team Leader for the Designated Marksman Team.
In 2006, Mr. Williams was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. He was assigned to the Field Operations Bureau, where he served as the Marine Services/Air Support Unit Commander, Administrative Lieutenant with the Town of Danville Police Department, and Bay Station Area Commander in Richmond. In June 2011, he was promoted to Captain and remained in the Field Operations Bureau, where he was Patrol Division Commander.
In January 2013, Mr. Williams was appointed to the rank of Assistant Sheriff. He was charged with overseeing the Field Operations Bureau, including the Patrol, Special Operations, Investigation, and Coroner’s Divisions. In January 2016, Mr. Williams supervised the Support Services Bureau which included the Professional Standards, Emergency Services, Technical Services, Training, and Forensic Services Divisions. In October 2017, Mr. Williams was assigned to the Administrative Services Bureau, overseeing Fiscal, Personnel, Professional Standards, and the Law Enforcement Training Center (Police Academy).
Mr. Williams graduated from Saint Mary’s College of California, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management. He is a graduate of the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) Command College, Class #54. He is also credentialed as a California Senior Executive by the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Institute for Excellence in County Government.
Mr. Williams honorably retired in October 2020 with 29 years of law enforcement experience. He then moved back to his home state of Texas, where he is a proud, sixth-generation Texan. He started his investigations business in 2022. Mr. Williams is dedicated to his new profession which incorporates his core values of Honor, Integrity, Professionalism, Commitment, and Transparency.

The annual budget for the Office of the Sheriff was $235,961,000 for the fiscal year 2021/2022.
The Office of the Sheriff offers a full range of services to more than 1,100,000 residents in the 715-square-mile county. The duties and mission of the Sheriff’s Office are unlike most police agencies. Responsibilities include unincorporated area policing, contract cities (Danville, Lafayette, and Orinda) and special districts, air support (helicopters), marine patrol, dispatch, investigations, coroners, county detention facilities, custody alternative, court security, forensic services, police academy, and Office of Emergency Services. The Office of the Sheriff works closely with many community partners, including residents, businesses, schools, leaders, and private and governmental agencies, to prevent crime and improve the quality of life.
